1933 - Congratulations, Kimberley!

The league hockey season closed Saturday night at Kimberley, leaving her champions of East and West Kootenay.

Notwithstanding the fact that Kimberley Class A division, was about the most formidable aggregation in the country on paper, it failed to click when clicking was needed and quit the season winner of only one-half game, a draw being the best she could get during the entire league schedule.

Anyway, it is refreshing to think that the Kootenay championship in the intermediate division should fall to East Kootenay, as it softens the defeat of the Class A, on which the fans had fond hopes of seeing come to Kimberley this season.

The Kimberley hockey managers and players are to be congratulated on their signal success in the intermediate division.

They enter the B.C. playoffs against Vernon in Kimberley with a record of no defeats during the entire season.

Ski jumpers are getting busy

The Kimberley Ski Club are again preparing to give to the public more of their thrilling entertainments which were so greatly appreciated for the past two years.

A new jump is anticipated for fostering the juniors in the art of sailing gracefully through the air before turning them onto the big jump. Work is to be started on it Saturday, so it will be in readiness soon.

The senior jumpers are preparing to bring in some outside competition to perform against our local jumpers and from all reports this season's performances should be better or equal to any ever seen here.
